2018 season preview

The FIA F3 European Championship offers young talents the opportunity to demonstrate their skills on an international platform. After all, the 10 race meetings of the 2018 season are held in eight different countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK. As usual, the venues were carefully selected as they are supposed to represent the young drivers’ best possible preparation for Formula 1. Therefore, the calendar of the 2018 season comprises eight current or former Formula 1 test and GP circuits: Silverstone (GBR), Pau (FRA), Budapest (HUN), Spa-Francorchamps (BEL), Zandvoort (NED), the Nürburgring (GER), Spielberg (AUT) and the Hockenheimring (GER). For the first time in its history, the FIA Formula 3 European Championship makes a stop at Misano (ITA). Furthermore, the calendar features – besides Pau – another tradition-steeped street circuit: Nuremberg’s Norisring (GER). Seven of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship race meetings will be held in the supporting programme of DTM. One event each will be held in the support programmes of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the Blancpain Endurance Series. And at the Grand Prix de Pau, Formula 3 represents the main attraction.
